Headache Treatment at Live Well Health Centre
At Live Well Health Centre your consultation will begin with an in depth medical history and physical examination. Checking for prior or current injuries, conditions or illnesses that may be contributing to your pain, as well how your body is functioning mechanically.
Treatment often starts with soft tissue treatment to your neck, back, head, shoulders and even the jaw and sinuses if needed. This works to release any tension that may be causing restriction. Once your muscles have been released, treatment will continue with joint mobilisation, stretching and other specific Osteopathic techniques aiming to increase range of motion and restoring function.
Following your hands on treatment, you will be given take home advice to continue with management and prevention. This may include specific stretches and exercises via our online Physitrack program, ergonomics and postural advice, sleep advice, as well as a suggestion of your next appointment.
To support maintaining your long term health and prevention, Live Well Health Centre also offers additional services such as Clinical Pilates and Strength and Conditioning that you may be referred to.

Specialists in Headache Management: Watson Technique Certified
Our headache/migraine specialist, Dr Samantha has completed further research and study through the Watson Headache Institute in the management and treatment of long term headaches and migraines.
The Watson approach involves treatment through the upper part of the neck. Focusing on non-invasive trigger point therapy to desensitise pain signals being sent from the neck into the brainstem that can cause headaches.
For the Watson Technique to be successful, it is recommended for you to complete 4 focussed sessions over a 2-3 week period to assess if the treatment is successful for you.
Samantha has already assisted multiple patients across her time at Live Well Health Centre with decreasing the duration, intensity and regularity of both headaches and migraines.
