What Is Clinical Pilates?

The Pilates method was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s.

He focused his exercise programs on breath, posture, core stability, control and strength.

Clinical Pilates is a form of Pilates involving low impact strength training using spring loaded machinery. Clinical Pilates can help with posture, reducing pain, rehabilitation of injuries and injury prevention.

Patients begin with a one-on-one class and can then enter group classes which are kept small (max 3 patients) so that they are supervised at all times by a qualified practitioner.

Most of our Pilates instructors are trained by Polestar Pilates. Polestar is an internationally recognised Pilates instructor training course.

The Clinical Pilates program at Live Well Health Centre is customised to every patient. Each patient is assessed one-on-one with their practitioner, where a personalised Pilates program is formed.
