Who is eligible for TAC-funded treatment?
You may be eligible for TAC-funded treatment if:
- You were injured in a transport accident in Victoria
- A TAC claim has been lodged
- Your TAC claim has been accepted
- Treatment is considered reasonable and necessary for your injury
Transport accidents may include:
- Car accidents (driver or passenger)

- Pedestrian injuries involving a vehicle

How TAC billing works (LanternPay)
In most cases, approved TAC treatment is billed directly to TAC through LanternPay.
This means:
- You usually do not pay upfront for approved treatment
- We submit claims directly to TAC
- Treatment must be approved where required
If treatment is not approved or exceeds TAC allowances, private fees may apply.
We will always discuss this with you first.

Private health insurance is not used for treatment related to a TAC claim.
